My small ears perk at the sound of a bird, listening for anything, anyone. Wanting to erase the image of Rosie's round, fear filled eyes, I hurry on at a slight run. Leaping over a fallen log covered with moss and fungi. So many smells swirl and dance in the air, I try to pick out any hint of another wolf near by.
Mitts light on the melting snow, pedestales outstretched for the length of a good lope around the borders of the territory. Plume held high in the air, dial held tall and confident, the maiden was guarding her borders. Of course, she was the only wolf in the pack at the moment, but she still needed to guard, in the opportunity that one comes into her earth. Just as the femme stretched her stilts longer and faster, her front left mitt sunk into a snowy hole. A yelp escaped her maw, frustration filling her cranium. After her embarrassing run-in with Fang, embarrassment came quicker and worse for her.
After a few moments of struggling to free her mitt, the Alphesse stood tall, her orbs scanning the forest quickly. With light steps, the dove danced her way across the melting snow, careful not to sink again. That was an experience that didn't need to be repeated, for sure.
Lost in her own thought, the Goddess began to let her mind wander. Of course, the first place it went was flying snow. She shook her dome, petrified as the vision of corps' flew her was. The dame shook her dial, careful not to let the vision get to her. A song with no lyrics became her main focus, the simple tune enough to keep her mind busy. She hummed a long tune, and then, froze. Her harks heard light pawsteps, not far away. Another wolf! On HER land. Her fur rose on it's ends, and a quiet growl rose in her throat. With light steps, the Alphesse danced over to the bushes, and saw a brute in front of her. With the lightest steps she could manage, the femme danced out in front of him, seeming to materialise out of mid-air. "What is your business doing here?" The she-devil snapped, her jowls drawn back slightly. Her plume was high, her dial stretching above his. He could be an intruder!
the past is a wonderful place to visit, but not to stay
Before the female appeared he had heared a hum and a yelp, when the sound hadn't continued he had passed it off as his own over-active imagination.
Makato was startled by this sudden appearance, that he flung snow up in the air with his nose, which had previously been sniffing the ground frantically searching for the scent of another wolf not realizing, until now, that the melting snow would, mostly, hide the scent, he looked at the newcomer, as the snow landed on his head. Before speaking he shook off the snow.
Makato looked at this beautiful female, who had a slight snarl on her face.... "Sorry I didn't mean to intrude, beautiful goddess. I was just wandering around looking for any sign of life up here. Is this your territory?" Makato asked kindly, his goofy smile started to appear.
A quiet night. Dark and lonely, harsh and painful. The moon shone bright, the darkness slowly eating away at her soul. Anger, fear, grief. Memories. The ivory femme could see herself, running through the snow, she could hear the blood-curling howls like yesterday. Her mind ran over and over those howls again. The ones she loved. The ones she loved the most. She shook her dome strongly, her jowls drawn back slightly into a scowl, a disturbed façade. It was easy to tell she was mentally disturbed, something was bothering the maiden, but her tongue curled around the lyrics, keeping them to herself.
The femme was jostled at the quick, goofy response, but her petite figure remained tense, her visage expressionless. "A goddess? Hardly," The she-devil sneered, before standing taller on her pistons as she began to dance around the rogue, "I am the Goddess of these lands, yes, but never shall I be a Goddess in whole. Instead, my mind is filled with lost, painful memories,"
[/b] Her tongue curled around the last word, causing the lyrics to sound like a soft hiss. Flattery shall get you nowhere
The she-devil, for sure, felt terrible for acting so rude, but still He was on her territory without permission, and he just happened to come along when she was in her worst mood. With a deep breath, the Alphesse calmed down and raised her dome, careful, before she moved back in front of the rogue, and sat back on her haunches. "I'm sorry. I've been in a terrible mood lately, and you just got the brunt end of it," The dove sighed a long sigh, "Are you here to join the pack?" The femmora asked lightly, hiding her encased excitement deep inside, although she could feel it. She might have spoiled her chances, the maiden realized, but it was a chance she would have to take. Although the beautiful maiden hid it well Makato could tell something was bugging her. What though?
Makato's eyes followed the delicate female. Clearly his attempt at flattery had failed, Why couldn't I have the same charm as Anthony? He questioned himself. Makato tried a different approach at the conversation. " I'm sorry about intruding on your territory." he said sincerely. His eyes resting on hers when she sat down. " Are there others in your pack?" even though she had been rude, she had a certain appeal to her, he watched her with curious eyes, his eyes perked at the sound of her voice, although he was still listening just in case some one else was coming, or in case an ambush was coming.
The sky was clearing up, more and more by the minute, the sun barely peaking through the disappearing clouds. The maiden raised her maw to the heavens above, her optics watching the clouds as the mascu seemed to be thinking. She was afraid to meet his orbs, afraid to see hurt and a facade that meant he had taken offence. A facade that meant he would leave. Her insides seemed to burn with terror, but the femme kept a visage that held her feelings deep. With a deep sigh, she lowered her dial and looked at the rogue, only to watch his deep breath for air before he spoke. "I'm sorry about intruding on your territory." the mascu spoke clearly, and, to Placid's audits, sincerely. Trust was an issue for her, and she needed to get over that fear. "Yes, hun, I'm sure. I just got protective, that's all," Her voice was musical, full of appraisal for his apology. "Are there others in your pack?" the orange brute inquired, but all the Alphesse was able to do was shake her dome in embarrassment. "No. It's just me, hun," Her vocals were soft and sad, quiet to show her dreams and wishes, giving him a quick peak at an actual expression, before her usual blankness slid into place. "Why?"
the past is a wonderful place to visit, but not to stay
Without looking at the sky, Makato could tell it was getting darker, the sun barely visible behind clouds. He studied the petite, white maiden's expressions closely seeing if their was any hint of emotion, as she said that there were no others he had seen a glimpse of saddness... maybe even sorrow. Although she didn't meet his eyes he could tell she had hopes and dreams of a happy, blossoming pack, guess it isn't going so well, Makato muttered to himself. His red-orange fur blew in a light breeze.
"I was just wondering, guess your bluntness scared them off or maybe it was the fact that they found your delicate, angelic appearance appealing but thought that their would be to much competition....." Makato said sort of quiet and alittle more than slightly joking. He then inwardly smacked himself because he remembered compliments got him nowhere. Makato shifted from paw to paw, slightly worried that he would be the cause of a scowl upon her maw.
Quiet, expressionless. A feeling to leave these terrible feelings. A memory to be erased. For another day. The sun was setting over the horizon, causing a dark feeling to wash over the femme at the thought of another lonely night to be spent alone. The winds were beginning to act up, the snow beginning to fly as thunder and lightning banged in the sky. Rain began to fall, the winds causing the snow to fly. A simple word for this storm; SPRING STORM.. Fear filled the femmes eyes before she replaced it with bravery. "Come on, let's get back to the site!!"
the past is a wonderful place to visit, but not to stay
Makato noticed how she ignored his statment, his fur stated to sway frantically, as if trying to escape the soon to come dreaded, spring storm. Some of the airborn snow lands on him, although it seems he doesn't notice, he is too focused on what the she-wolf is saying, listening to her musixcal voice he can realizes how easy it would be to become intranced by her siren like voice. Hearing her say to get back to the site. Clearing his throat and shaking the numbness from his head he says:
The femme nodded quickly and scrambled up the hill, having no difficulties. She glanced back at the red male through the airborne snow and the pouring rain, he looked.. Cute. A hidden grin split across her maw, one that was hopefully invisible through the pouring rain and flying snow. Even throughout spring storms, the maiden was able to keep calm. She knew her way back to camp easily now, and padded quickly along the top of the snow. Knowing that the red wolf may have some difficulties along the rough, uneven earth and the snow, she slowed her pace a bit to be sure he was fine. Her lyrics were rough and snippy as she called back to him; "Hurry up!!" her mitts technically floated as she flew into camp and into the cover of her den, where she waited for Makato.
Makato waited for the young maiden to start the journey up the to the site, where they would be safe from the storm. He didn't mind storms though, especially today, they kind of gave him a happy feeling inside. They also reminded him that if you want a rainbow, your going to have to put up with the storm.
Hurring after the femme, Makato kept his balance the whole way. Once he even thought he saw her smile, then again it could of been his imagination. Through the rain and slight snow it was hard to see her clearly, but when she turned her head so the storm wasn't blowing directly in her face, she looked... well... beautiful, even more than before. In a way the storm suited her, it was dangerous but beautiful at the same time. Also like stoms she was a little hard to understand, and read. But breath-taking all the same. Makato didn't know what made her so appealing, her looks were part of it but a lot of wolves were pretty, maybe just not at her level, he had seen prettier wolves, but he hadn't been attracted to them in the way he was with her. Maybe it was her bravery, attitude or.. something else in general.
Makato gracefully walked into the same den that Placid was in. He looked around taking in all the details, memorizing them, following the patterns of the curves, bumps, and patterns of the walls, ceiling, and ground. Finally coming to rest on Placid, a water droplet running down his face, over the drop of the top of his head, over the rise on the side of his eye, and staggered down to his muzzle.
" It's nice up here. What's your name?" Makato asked truly interested for any detail of her life or about her. Don't be so stupid! Don't be so blunt about your feelings just incase she doesn't feel the same, plus you don't even know her. Makato inwardly kicked himself again for being so unobservative.
The Alphesse had glanced back at the red-coated male multiple times throughout the journey, to notice he was having no problems at all climbing the mountain cliffs. That was a good sign. He may actually be able to live in the pack. Even with the rain and snow pelting him in the face, he had a positive look on his face, and that pleased the maiden, knowing that he may be one to notice the beauty of her home.
As soon as the brute weaved his way into the den, her den, the femme sat back on her haunches, relaxing now that he was safe, in her home. The brutal winds screamed outside, seeming to tear up her grounds, and it made her antsy. The maiden watched the rogue as her took in her den, her optics seeming to memorize each part before they met hers. The femme observed as a water droplet slide down his visage, scrambling to his maw and dropping to the earth.
"It's nice up here. What's your name?" the orange brute asked, and all the Goddess could do was smile. This was the only expression, the only time that this mascu would see it. "Placid, dear, and you?" The maiden responded in a soft, musical tone. "Now, it's time for you to rest. I'll run to grab some food for you, and you get settled," She purred, and bounded through the entrance before he could stop her. She flung herself into the den under a tree, cautious of the constant winds. She snatched herself two, plump winter hares and raced back to her den. When she arrived back in her den, the Alphesse nodded to the hares as she set them down. "Pick one," She ordered, before she sat back and waited.
the past is a wonderful place to visit, but not to stay
Placid had finally smiled, her smile is so easy, and light, which makes it look nice and sincere. Was it because of me?! Makato watched as she ran out of the den waiting to reply.
He watched as she came bounding back with two large, plumb hares in her mouth. "Pick one" Placid said. Makato took the smaller of the two, not wanting to look selfish and pig like. He watched her as he waited for her to eat first, after all she was the Alpha. "That's a cool name, very unique. My name is Makato. Thank you for the food and shelter, if you have any questions feel free to ask them." Makato studied her movments, he was very observante and liked to memorize things, her delicateness reminded him of his late sister, Rosie. Pain flashed across his face and eyes, quickly washing it out of his facial expression, he shook his head and focused on the present. Focused on the way her muscels flexed, when she moved.
D**n! The alphesse nearly growled as Makato took the hare she wanted. The smaller one with less fat. She definitely did not like the fat that was found on most hares, for sure. Carefully, the femme pulled the other hare towards her and tore it apart, eating it's tough hide without difficulty. She was used to eating chewier food, due to the harsh winds and cold weather, their pelts were tough. "Makato.. What a nice name," the dove murmured softly, before speaking louder, "My pleasure, Makato. What is it that brought you here?"
the past is a wonderful place to visit, but not to stay
Makato noticed the slighty hesitate as the she-wolf took the bigger hare. Oops! Guess she wanted this one, next time take the fatter one Watching as see ripped into the hare he knew she wasn't afraid to get dirty. He also knew she wasn't to worried about being a polite eater, which was good because he didn't care how someone ate.
Makato tore into the hare he had selected, not as fatty as the first, he didn't like ones that had lots of fat or no fat. Blood covered his maw making the red in his fur stick out more. Stopping for a moment to reply to Placid.
"Thank you. Well my family was murdered by my older brother, he had been infected by a parasite at the time, and I don't know my dad. So I guess I was looking for somewhere to belong. A place to call home." he replied sincerly, showing a sad expression when he mentioned his family, but it changed to a lighter look when he talked about belonging.
