ZENA The smell of salt in the air pulled Zena to the ocean like she was lassoed. Her paws sunk as she stepped out of the surrounding forest onto the soft, sandy beach. The water lapped at the shore, the ocean breeze blowing thru her silvery fur. She tilted her face up towards the sky letting the warm sun soak into her. Suddenly she was sprinting towards the water, her muscles propelling her forward. Looking back and seeing her paw prints, she dropped to the ground greatly amused by this, and rolled over onto her back. The ocean waves slowly reached her, engulfing her body with salty water. A silver flash past her, realizing what is was, she lunged forward, grabbing the squirmy fish in her jaws. Dragging herself back to shore, she plopped down far enough away from the water so it doesn't whisk away her prize. She thought to herself "If i'm going to be an alpha one day.. I really need to learn to catch more than just fish." She began scarfing down her food as if she hadn't eaten in days, looking up occasionally to check for predators. As the breeze blew by,she caught an unfamiliar scent that made her fur stand up. Her frantic eyes darted around searching for the smell that was disturbing her dinner before finally catching a reflection of two watching eyes off in the forest brush a few yards off.
Pale grey eyes observed through the bushes, calculating. Always calculating. That was all the ashen brute did, was calculate. It was his way to remain tranquil, his brain never truly shutting down, always working. Calculating. Deep in concentration, the massive rogue watched the femme as she rolled in the itchy sand, the cool, salty ocean waves washing up against her silvery shaded pelt. He watched her, the cool breeze running through his fur, brushing it out and fixing it, playing with it. And he sat there, simply watching, always calculating. Calculating how long it would take for him to get over to the dove, how long it would take for him to snatch a fish and run off. Too long. If that was his complete intent, he would have to use strategy. Just as he was about to step out to get a silvery figure that swam about in the water, the silver femme leapt up and pounced it, killing it in a matter of seconds. She would be a good opponent, quick and agile. She was obviously intelligent enough to move away from the constant waves, trying to lap up her kill and take it away.
The ashen brute watched the silvery femme as she ate her kill savagely, glancing up from time to time, when suddenly, her fur stood on ends. She could smell him. He began to calculate rapidly, calculating what would happen if she came to attack him. He couldn't run, she was obviously faster and had quicker reflexes. Fighting might be an option, considering she was smaller, much smaller, than he was. He was massive. Or, he could use strategy. At last second, he could dive out of the way and allow her to hit the huge tree behind him, while he bounded off. Those were the options if she came to attack. If she began to run off, he would go take the fish that she should leave behind, too lazy to hunt for himself. But if she stayed, that would be the biggest problem of all. No fishing, no speaking. Maybe, maybe, he could just trudge out, fish, and go back to hide. Would she say anything? Possibly. He truly hoped not.
His cold, hard gaze locked on her mince frame as she stared at him. He began to calculate her reaction. Her fur said shock or fear, or both. He didn't sense any danger. With a firm, mental shove, the brute staggered out onto the beach, looking typically drunk. His heavy footsteps sunk deeply into the sand, constantly tripping over his overly large paws. He was tired and hungry. No, he was tired and famished. With another heavy step, he struggled to the edge of the salty water, glaring down at the constant waves that stirred up the sand. He plopped back on his haunches, his stone hard orbs staring at the deep blue sea ahead of him. Why was it here? How was it created? Maybe a meteor flew and landed, pushing so deep into the earth, that water came pouring out. Any other time he would spend a day pondering the thought, but instead, he saw a sleek figure dash through the water. A fish!!
He watched as it wiggled in and out, weaving around who knows what. Why did fish swim like that? He stared intently at the fish. It was because they couldn't get around any other way with a fin like that. H shook his head, wondering why he had such silly questions, ones that he already knew the answers too. He sighed and watched the fish some more, before he decided what he was going to do. He looked around, to see that there was a tiny bay not far away. He would have to herd the fish to there. With purposely heavy steps, he stormed after the fish, everything going exactly as planned. Just as the fish reached the dead end and the ashen brute attempted to through on the brakes, he stumbled and fell, doing a full on face plant into the water. "Oof! He barked as his canine teeth sunk into the scaly creature. Sand swirled his vision, the salt water stinging his orbs. He sat up straight, a quiet whimper escaping his maw, completely forgetting about the silvery femme that was just sitting on the beach.
He hauled himself out of the water, spitting out his food on the beach where the waves couldn't reach it. He had killed it with the force of his fall, and he paced around in frustration. How had he tripped? Was there a hole there? Or was he just that clumsy. He felt bad, and he spun around to face the femme on the beach. "I am terribly apologetic that such an exquisite damsel had to see me plummet so dreadfully. I do apologize and hope I did not interfere with your meal," The ashen brute apologized so brutally, petrified she would laugh at his fail or his funny spoken words.

ZENA As the huge stranger made his way from the forest to the shoreline, Zena sat up, watching him with curious eyes. He didn't say a word to her, or even acknowledge she was there really. Her eyes outlined the shape of his body, Damn! The brute was massive! His huge paws sunk into the sand, making him stumble a bit as he traveled forward. She quickly scarfed down the rest of her meal as she watched him plod out into the sea, the salty water lapping at his silver-black coat. He ungracefully plunged into the water, resurfacing a few moments after with a fish hanging from his mouth. The brute dragged himself onto the shore, dropping the fish to the sand. Then what he did next surprised her, he looked up at her and spoke. His words lingered in the air for a moment, as she comprehended what he was trying to tell her. She almost wanted to laugh, never in her life had she heard such elegant words! The soft spoken words swirled in her mind, finally deciding on an answer. She stood up, her feet sinking further into the sand, and bowed her head. "It's all right," she said looking up slowly, "Ifyou mind me asking, what exactly were you doing in the bay? You looked like you were going to run the fish onto land!" Zena smiled, could this be it? She thought, Could he possibly be one that I could travel with? The feeling of friendship overwhelmed her, but she took another look at him. He was obviously a loner, and probably not willing for a change. Her spirit died down a bit as she brought reality to life. Her blue and green eyes stared at him, waiting for an answer.
The massive brute could feel optics penetrating his back as he did his work, and fear filled his intelligent cranium. It felt like flames, singing his fur to ashes. What were flames made out of? Other than heat? What made them so hot, so deadly? The vibrations, he realized. He knew that vibrations made heat. Friction, made heat. So the air around the fire must rub together, spreading the fire. He shook his head clear, as he turned his huge cranium slightly to look at the femme. It was just easy, just simple, for him to become fearful or frustrated. Frustration came with defeat, fear with others. Other's, he feared, would mock or beat on Roe, and that's what made him fear the most. Being mocked. Although his stone cold orbs never said, never told, a soul what it was, he was always offended when he was mocked. And that's something he could keep to himself.
More fear managed to claw itself into his mind when she stood up, her mitts sinking deeper into the wet, cold sand. He couldn't help but frown at the sight of her giving a slight bow. Why is she bowing to me? I'm nobody important. I should be bowing to her, the brute thought in frustration. He ducked his head in reply to her duck, allowing his nose to touch the sticky sand. He would be a good omega. He's always been good at grovelling, he figured, grovelling to his older brother whom he's always had to do as was said. The rogue inhaled deeply, and allowed it to slip out quickly through his maw, in a bit of a sigh. He lifted his dome to look at the silvery silhouette in front of him. He noticed that he nearly towered over her, and a tiny smile slipped past his barricade, before it was put away.
She looked up at him slowly, accepting his apology. Damn! He was so formal, so elegant with his speaking, and she spoke normally. There was the burning sensation in his cheeks again, and he swore, his fur was gone, the ashen coat turned to ash itself. And then, the question he was dreading, what was it he was doing. Should he lie or tell this girl the truth? His hard layer whispered and told him to lie, tell her a lie, but his heart, something very rarely listened to, told him to tell the truth. For the first time in a long time, he listened to his heart. "Although I wish to decline your interrogation, I might as well illustrate my manoeuvres. As you probably acknowledged, I was using a scheme to apprehend the fish. Since I have an insufficient amount of briskness, as opposed to a swift nymph like yourself, my intellect needs to do all the labour. I was attempting to manoeuvre the fish to where I could clasp it smoothly. And then I miscalculated, and plunged," The massive brute replied easily, quietly. He had used all of his smarts again, using long words that required a certain extent of intelligence to understand.
A quiet sigh escaped his maw as he looked at the silver form in front of him. His orbs, nearly silver themselves, regarded her body, taking in the size. She would be a worthy opponent, but an even better ally. She was brisk and with his intellect, it would be like him and his sister all over again. His sister. Where was she now? Was she long gone, haven forgotten about him? He surely hoped not. He hadn't forgotten about her or his brother, whom he wondered about a lot as well. It was always like that. He always thought about them. He remembered the fights the three would get in after being separated, all of their personalities to different, all clashing. It was difficult not to break down and send out a call for them right now, but he had to keep strong. He had company.

ZENA OOC:This is what she would look like right now, LOL- media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lzlywz7qa61qzlvmi.gif Zena looked at him with a dumbfound face.. What had he just said? Her mind spun, she stared into his deep gray eyes, looking for a clever response. Finding a clever response was her way of getting out of most things. Words flowed thru her mind, trying to put themselves together but none seemed to fit. She shook her head and fell back onto her haunches. "Interesting.." Her words fell out of her mouth unsmoothly. Ignoring this, she jumped up to her feet and announced "Im Zena by the way," She trotted up closer to him, breathing in his unfamiliar scent. Zena never really cared what strangers thought of her, she thought that if someone was brave enough to talk to her they should have the guts to get to know her. She added to her previous statement "Im leader of White Lake Pack, one of the greatest know packs to wolf kind." She laughed to herself, she didn't even have a traveling companion, no less a pack. She stood up tall and held her tail up as an alpha would, staring him straight in the eye. Challenging him to answer.
Darkening features regarded the nimble dame, her visage covered with a facade of shock. A sly thought came to the massive brute's grande cranium, and with a moment of thought, he realized that the nymph couldn't come with a good, sharp reply. A triumphant grin managed to slither into his facade, his hard orbs becoming slightly softer. Interesting, he thought smugly, she seems.. Frustrated Just as those thoughts were finished, her lyrics stumbled from her tongue, unsmooth and slightly flustered. His grin grew. Just as he was excited to think the femme was at loss for words, she jumped up, frightening the brute back. He stumbled back a step, and then sat back on his haunches as she announced her title to be Zena. An interesting name, not very common. He gave a quick nod. "Of course, madame Zena. My title is Roe," he replied in a formal fashion, and then the dame spoke again, pride coloring her chords. An Alphesse? He was in the presence of an Alphesse? She definitely hasn't been acting like it, rolling around in the sand and in the salty water. He grinned. "I'm very gleeful to overhear you take so much dignity in your pack," Ego. That's the only word that actually came to Roe's mind, and all he could do was watch the nymph with hard eyes.

ZENA Zena growled to herself at the sound of the sarcastic remark. Cautiously moving forward, she lowered her silver head as if she was going to attack. Her eyes followed his stare, and met up in the middle, her crystal eyes challenging him to speak. "Yes I do have dignity in my pack.It may not have any members in it yet..." She paused gathering her words in her mind looking for a clever way to turn the conversation back to him, then continued. "But it's not like you have anything to show off,Rue,your just a lone brute yourself." She turned, walking off frustrated and kind of hurt. How she dreamed of having a pack!! She didn't care if it was the biggest and the baddest, the lone dove just wanted a home. Zena's feet stopped and slowly sank into the soft sand. Lifting her head over her shoulder, she looked back at Rue, waiting for a response.
A tiny growl rose from the maiden in front of him, and she lowered her dome, as if prepared to charge like a bull, or fight. Her lyrics boomed loudly in the quiet, tranquil area. Although, he did admire her pride and the willingness she had to protect and show off about her pack. That was one thing. Roe often found things to admire, and he found, that it was important if you planned to make friends or something of the sort. He didn't realize the fact he had made her mad at him, never being good with the sort of emotions that she seemed to pick up on. She had paused, and it seemed she thought for a moment, before speaking back, a sharp reply, for sure, and clever. She had turned the conversation around to him, making him look like a fool at the time. For the first time in awhile, Roe snapped, inside and out. "I don't have anything! And how in the heck did you guess?! I guess it comes with being an Alpha of the greatest pack known to wolves, with a future to look forward to! My life was ruined by the carelessness of other's, of wolves I actually trusted! They killed too many of my siblings, and my. My oh my, did they get it. I got them back, I promise, I did, I did. I avenged them, those careless things. I hate them. I left their young in the paws of the old, knowing they, they too, would have the same fate as my siblings. If it weren't for me, they would be dead!" He had gone mental, for sure. He lost his formality. He lost his mind, just like his family. They were dead. His mind, for the first time, stopped.
The huge mascu dropped to his side, his body rigid and shaking, his mind turned off from the present, instead deciding to haunt him with memories and pictures from the bodies he had killed, the pain he had caused. He'd never had love growing up, never once did another show affection. He was a lost soul. He had more negatives than positives, only saving three, killing far too many to count. She shouldn't trust him. She should be gone.

ZENA Sand flew as Zena sharply turned facing the brute, her intriguing eyes burned holes into the soft ground, not wanting to look up. She envied his courage and bravery with a passion. Her ears pricked forward, listening intensely to what the brute was saying. The ocean wind picked up and blew thru their fur, sending his mysterious smell towards Zena. She stood silent for a minute allowing Rue to catch his breath and settle a moment. She kept her head low and her body on edge before relaxing and smirking"I don't know what to say really except, you have guts, Pup, and it looks like we have something in common. " She carefully and percisely sat back on her haunches, lifting one front paw off the ground gesturing towards him "You should stick around a while."
The brute's breathing slowed, his rigid body going limp. He felt much better. This Zena wolf was getting on his nerves, and all he could do was stare at her. She kept her hard glare on the sand, seeming to burn holes into the soft sand. The brute sat up lightly, keeping his body tight. He would attack this wolf if that's what she decided. When her body relaxed a bit, a seemingly cruel smirk was plastered on her facade. "Pup?!" the massive brute scoffed, and he leaped to his feet quickly, his lips curling back, revealing his ivories. His body was held rigid, glaring at the femme with daggers in his cold orbs. The fur on his back was raised, something he was not used too. "Me? Me the pup? Just because you're the Alpha doesn't mean you're older, or perhaps higher than myself. I'm a loner, I don't need to have any form of respect for you," he snorted maliciously, before he let his fur lay flat, his fangs being hidden yet again. He did not wish for a fight, just for her to leave. She motioned with a paw to the brute, and his cold orbs raised to stare at her, as she offered for him to stick around. "Stick around? I'll come find you when I need you," he chortled darkly, turning and marching away. OoC: You could either end it there, or post, or whatever you want. She could go after him, or whatever it is you'll need. Sorry, he's being mean. xD
the past is a wonderful place to visit, but not to stay
ZENA Zena jumped up looking at him with a softer expression trying to get the brute to relax some "Roe, I didn't mean it like that." She spoke to him like she knew him for years. Suddenly a sound from the woods caused her to turn her head sharply, looking back at them. She paused for a moment listening, nothing happened. She returned her attention to the the brute between her and the sea. "Where i'm from its just like saying friend when you say pup. But I should have been more careful towards your feelings, not everyone is as outgoing and care free as others. I'm sorry" She lowered her head as if she was bowing slightly. She raised her head and looked him right in the eyes challenging him to say something rude again. Zena growled in her mind kind of, she wasn't used to wolves always blowing up at her like this one did. Everything she said or did seemed to set him off, she couldn't quite wrap her mind around it. Why is he acting like this towards me? Is he asking for a fight? She sat down again digging a little hole in the ground in front of her, trying to get the edge of Roe.
The Alphesse raised lowered her voice, using a much softer tone, as though he was just a pup. Perhaps he was a pup. He wasn't sure anymore. He took a deep breath, calming, and turned to look at Zena as she explained to him why she had called him a pup. No, she shouldn't apologize. He should. "Perhaps, my dear Zena, it is me who should be apologizing to you. I shouldn't have blown up in such a fashion. I've been bottling up everything far too long," he admitted, a soft tone matched with a weary expression, his pale grey eyes soft as they rested on hers. It was his fault. Ever since he left his siblings, he's felt so mad inside, he's had such a temper. Emotions were a crazy thing for him, something that felt unnatural. "I'm so very ecstatic that you stayed, dear Zena. You could have abandoned me, but you stayed, and I do appreciate it," he murmured, before his harks pricked toward a sound, a call it sounded like. "A howl?" he whispered, his eyes brightening as he looked at Zena. He knew she was Alphesse, as he had mentioned. This sounded like a call. "You should go answer that. I'll come by soon, I promise,"
the past is a wonderful place to visit, but not to stay
Zena tilted her head up, looking at Roe's face. He was rather charming and had a face that she wouldn't forget for a long time. She listened to him as he spoke and flicked her ears forward hearing his voice soften suddenly mixed with the sound of crashing waves. He was apologizing to her and his words rang in her head 'Ive been bottling up everything far to long' Zena nodded, wondering what secrets this wolf had, what is his story? The brute looked over at Zena with softer eyes, catching her gaze. He spoke softly with less edge, she clung on to every word he said, it's been so long since she had heard a wolf's welcoming voice. The sound of a neraby wolf whispered thru the winds, catching their attention. "You should go answer that. I'll come by soon, I promise," he said, turning to leave. See me around? She lunged forward almost knocking him over "No! Don't leave, where are you going?" quickly, she jumped back, realizing she was far to close to Rue, he still was a stranger after all.
Just as the massive cocoa brute was about to turn to leave, Zena leaped at him, causing him to stumble and nearly fall.He turned to look at her, his orbs soft. Where was he going? It'd be good if he explored the area first. Perhaps he could join Zena's pack later on. He'd like that. "I'm uncertain. Probably create an acquaintanceship with others, I presume," he murmured, his usually cold eyes warm as they stared into hers for a few moments, lost in thought, before he shook his dial and looked out to the ocean, the crashing of the waves soothing. He looked back at Zena, stepped toward her and pressed his nose to her shoulder. The action was friendly, one to pursue a friendship, but to Roe, it meant much more, unfamiliar feelings. He wasn't sure, but he liked this Zena character a lot, and wouldn't mind following her to the edge of the earth if that's where she took him, but for now, he would go explore. "I'll be back, I promise," He murmured quietly, staring out on the ocean, waiting for her to dismiss him.
Walk, "Talk", 'think'
the past is a wonderful place to visit, but not to stay
ZENA Roe's cold nose buried into Zena's shoulder. Alarmed, she ducked back from his gesture, not sure what he was doing. She looked at him her face showing her confusion and regretful that she had spooked at his action. She stumbled back "I, I gotta go.." her face beaming with embarrassment. She turned quickly and fled off into the surrounding forest. Her face burned with excitement, never before had a wolf been so kind to her. She slid to a stop at the edge of the forest, looking back to see him gone, disappeared for forever, it seemed. She threw her head back, letting her song fill the air, as if to say goodbye. Gazing back at the beach she whispered to herself "See you soon Rue." Then turned and fled towards the edge of the territory, to meet her new guest.
