Zena jumped back from his action. Roe stared at her with eyes that brimmed with hurt. He was about to apologize for being straightforward, but Zena fled the area, leaving Roe standing there alone, on the beach, all alone. 'I scared her off... I.. I don't understand,' These thoughts were all so new for him, frightening the heartless brute. No. Before, he had been heartless. He was so confused. He heard Zena's soft call, and threw his head back to answer it, his baritones deep and sad. He sat back on the beach, staring into the cold ocean. Thunder threatened dark rainstorms, the sea was raging. Closing his eyes, Roe let the rough winds comb its greedy grasp through his fur, allowing his mind to wheel, alone, at peace. But each time his mind got wrapped up on a subject, his heart would try to take over. His pale gaze grew wide. What had Zena done to him? She had changed him, obviously, for good or for bad. After staring out onto the sea for who knows how long, the rain came down hard, stinging the brutes tough skin. With a sigh, he stood up and padded into the dark forest, heading who-knows-where.
