I know your kind of thinking like... What the Hell is a codegasm?
It is the best thing in my life. Best thing ever.
Proboardsv5 - The fifth major version of proboards! Dadadadada!
The new version of proboards mean a lot of things. It's going to be easier to use with the plug in system they will be having.
By plug in, for example. Our side tables are one big code with edits between them. On v5 side tables will be a plug in, were admin can go under some settings and edit everything from there.
The transition to v5 is unavoidable, I'm working at getting access to the beta zone that was just released so I can have a heads up on how to design the new layout of thrill.
The down side; All current coding and information in our headers and footers. (The core of the site) Will be lost over the transition. Of course we will be able to save copies between the staff for safe keeping.
How things will look and how Thrill can be remade will be a mild issue, because most, if not all, codes that currently work on proboards will not work on v5. So many new codes will be in the process of being made and reworked to work with v5. This means that even I have to take the time to rework codes.
Because of this, we are being presented with two options. And we want your take on it.
1. Sticking with proboards. It will be a bit of a struggle, to adjust to the new v5 inner settings and the adapting of codes. (Will be harder for me than for you. =P) Staying with proboards will allow each thread currently up to be transferred into the v5 boards into its place amongst the new site. The up side; Not much for you to do as a member. The down side; Busy staff. We will loose some features until codes get reworked.
2. Brand new. This means we will start new with a new hosting system and a brand new board. This means things will be manually transferred by our staff members. Members will have to reregister and there will be a process in which characters will need to be brought over. The up side; Where I plan to move Thrill will allow us abit more layout freedom. And new features. The down side; You will have to do some things to get things transferred to the new site and get registered. (bwahaha, ive been coding. This is the site we will move to if we decided to move. z13.invisionfree.com/thrillv2/index.php?act=idx)
I will be making a new Thrill site with the new host I am eye-balling. It will be put in progress to allow that choice to be there once the decision is made. Im going to enjoy making a new one, or even making a proboards v5 one. Whatever is decided.
Now you must have tons of questions, feel free to post below with your questions and opinions. Please ask anything, and give your clear opinions. We want to know which step to take; we don't want to risk loosing members so we want you to tell us which you would think would be better.
