Raina quietly walked along the river shore, watching the fish swim and the water calmly rush down stream. She didn't know anyone around these parts, and had nowhere go, so she wandred around hoping to run into someone. A growling noise erupted from her belly, she clearly was hungry. With a delicate paw she swatted a fish out of the water and carefully killed it, not wanting to put it through any pain. Daintily she begain to pick at the fish.
The sky was a deep blue, the stream a quiet trickle, it was peaceful here, Raina loved listening to the sounds of nature, her hearing was incredibly sharp and her eyes were very good at picking out certain things, but her nose was her weakness, it was hard for her to determine certain scents from one another. Once you have been around her enough she can distinguish your scent from a strangers.
Without lifting her head Paina continued to pick at the fish, eating little bits at a time, not wanting to get blood all over her maw, she didn't like the way it felt or looked, losing herself into her own thoguhts, it would have been eay to sneak up on her.
Long, ungraceful strides carried the femmes masculine body along the river side, racing whatever she could. Birds, bees, dragonflies, even the unbeatable wind. Her competitive spirit flew. The gentle thudding of the earth beneath her paws was the rhythm she set to, the rhythm she lived for. The rhythm of the earth. Of we running. Her heart beating faster, beating harder and faster, until the sound if her heart beating droned out the sound of her enormous paws slapping the earth. It was so strange to move without a fear of falling, to Dakota. She was so large and clumsy, she appeared to be a newborn pup. But running, running was different. The need for speed, the promise of never letting her down. She smiled. The rhythms ringing in her ears, she concentrated on feel. The sticky, wet snow sticking to the pads of her oversized paws, the rest flying behind. The morning sun beating down on her thick, winter coat. The feel of the breeze snuggling in her warm coat with her. The feeling of.. Bam! The feeling of running into someone. The feeling of pain and cold water as it seeped through her coat. The knight swam up, her head above the water. She scrambled out, gripping the scruff on the other wolves neck. A sweet maiden, seeming tiny and fragile in comparison to Dakota. "Sorry, lass. I wasn't focusing. Are you okay?" Dakota's naturally deep baritones rang out, hoping the lass was okay.
the past is a wonderful place to visit, but not to stay
Raina had heard something that sounded like a stampede, but thought it was her imagination so she shook it off, until it got closer and closer. Lifting her head as a large brute was fifteen feet away, but fear stopped her body from moving, she was like a deer caught in head lights, exactly the same until the end, where she ended up living and the deer would now be a hood ornament. Sputtering up to the surface, she gasped as the large stranger, grabbed the scruff of her neck and carried her out of the water. He was muttering apologize, but the raged sound of her lungs trying to get air, seemed louder than his words. She stood on shaky legs, the water had made her light coat smooth across her frail body. Finally able to speak Raina shyly looked up at the brutes looming figure. "It's alright, I should have moved." catches my breathe and stands up, once again steady, " It's not that hard to knock me over, a food wind could do it." She allows a small smile. Raina has to tilt her head up, even to look him in the face, actually the nose. So she takes a small step back and finally can see the masculine brutes, deep brown eyes. " I'm Raina." her voice was soft and quiet, she was obviously shy.
The maiden that Dakota had just dragged out of the water coughed and heaved, sucking at the air, trying to fill her lungs. Dakota raised her eyebrows, giving a tiny chuckle. The maiden beneath her accepted her apology, and then announced her name. Dakota watched her. Wowza. She was pretty. Raina. Dakota cleared her throat, wishing and hoping her voice wouldn't fail her. "Dakota, pleasure to meet you, Raina," the knight introduced herself, her boyish grin and posture encouraging any thoughts of her being a male. "You're awfully pretty.." Dakota murmured, and recoiled immediately. No, not in disgust, but instead in shock of the words that had just rolled off her tongue so easily. "Sorry.. I come from Grey Mountain Pack. Do you come from a pack?" She asked, trying to cover up her foolishness and stupidity with a simple question.
Raina looked up into the brutes large brown eyes, finding it hard to look away. A blush krept upon her face, when Dakato announced that she was pretty. Me? Pretty? I wonder where this wolf comes from.. Noticing the astonishment in, the massive male's eyes, realizing that he hadn't meant to say it out loud, made her blush deepen. "Thank you." she speaks shyly, "That's a long distance, what are you doing all the way out here? No, I'm afraid I am not present in any pack." Her eyes the colour of rain, watches Dakota. He was rather handsom, in a ruggish kind of way, but his orbs were what drew Raina in. Although they seemed to be like most brown eyes, there was a certain chocolate look to them. Like when you first bite a cold chocolate bar with caramel inside, and it takes a second for the rich taste to kick in, well that's what Dakota's eyes reminded Raina of, where you have to chip away the cold outside to reach the delicious caramel.
Dakota watched the pretty maiden's face, looking for a sign of her showing disgust at another maiden calling her pretty. But instead, she blushed. "Thank you." she whispered shyly, and Dakota grinned. Whoo. That was a close call. Why hadn't she been so uncertain, like a maiden would be if another maiden said that? "That's a long distance, what are you doing all the way out here? No, I'm afraid I am not present in any pack." the tiny maiden interrupted her thoughts. Dakota nodded. Wait..Did Raina think that Dakota was a brute? Sure, she resembled it, but still. Dakota spoke up. "I think Grey Mountain would offer you a home.." he said, and saw a fish swimming in the water. Immediately, the big knight sloshed at it, managing to snatch it up. Killing it quickly, she picked it up in her teeth, and offered it to Raina.

Raina's nose was what made it hard for her to tell weither Dakota was a brute or a dove. "I think Grey Mountain would offer you a home.." Dakota spoke up. Raina assumed that was the pack that Dakota was in. She watched him fumbled with a fish then offer it to her. Taking a small, delicate bite off of the fish, when she finishes chewing, she looks back up at Dakota. "Thank you. Grey Mountain? Who's the Alphesse and Alpha?" Her expression turns quizzical. Her voice like wind chimes. The sun was shining brightly, it must be late afternoon. Green grass covered the banks, the water hummed quietly to itself, making up it's own melody.
The pretty maiden in front of Dakota took a dainty bite of the fish, and chewed politely. Dakota smiled brightly, and set the fish at Raina's feet. She took a bite, and swallowed it quickly.
"Thank you. Grey Mountain? Who's the Alphesse and Alpha?"
Raina's expression was quizzical, and Dakota smiled. He had just recently joined the pack, and just actually started to remember their names.
"Placid and Yiska. They have se-- six pups,"
Dakota had just recently learned that they had once had seven pups, but one of them had just recently died, so the Alpha's were in a stage of mourning.

A goofy smile spread across Dakota's maw, making Raina smile in return. Her heart made a fluttering motion inside her chest. Although she didn't show it, Raina had a slight moment of panic. Everyone she ever loved had died..she didn't want to bring that fate to this brute.
"Placid and Yiska. They have se-- six pups,"
Raina poundered that for a moment or two, mentally figuring out why he had stuttered, or corrected himself. She had come to a conclusion, but decided not to voice it, maybe it wasn't suppose to be talked about. So instead she gave a polite, interested nod and watched Dakotas' eyes. After he made the mistake, there had seemed to be a flash of, possible sadness. The seventh pup had almost certainly died.
Raina smiled, and Dakota smiled back, instead of her boyish grin.
"What is the weather like up in the mountains?"
Her voice was soft and sweet, and made Dakota smile. She really liked this female. A lot.
"Well.. Mountainy. No, just kidding. The atmosphere is really quiet. It's pretty peaceful. It gets pretty chilly in the winter, but in the summer, it gets pretty warm cause you're closer to the sun. But it still gets a nice breeze,"
Obviously Dakota was a huge fan of the mountains, and adored the weather. She smiled ruefully at Raina, and then glanced away.

A smile appeared on Dakota's face, no longer the boyish grin. "Well.. Mountainy. No, just kidding. The atmosphere is really quiet. It's pretty peaceful. It gets pretty chilly in the winter, but in the summer, it gets pretty warm cause you're closer to the sun. But it still gets a nice breeze," Raina smiled, and let out a little laugh, the sound was almoat identicale to that of small wind chimes. Her blue orbs, had a spark in them, she liked this brute, and could see them becoming good friends, or, hopefully, more than that. "I'd say you like the mountains. From what you say, I think I would like it up there...Would you mind showing me?" Her voice shy and warm. Like a hug on a cold winter's night.
Raina smiled back and laughed, and Dakota grinned at her. Her hips gave a slight sway as she planted her back rump on the ground, swishing her tail side to side as she did so. She sat up tall, her orbs never leaving Raina's.
"I'd say you like the mountains. From what you say, I think I would like it up there...Would you mind showing me?"
Dakota jumped up, even though she had just sat down.
"Of course! We can leave right now, if you'd like,"
Her voice was deep, but full of excitement. Her tail was wagging at 100 miles an hour.

Raina's eyes widened as Dakota jumped up, his voice full of enthusiasm and excitment. Although he had just sat down, he brute sprung up, his tail going a mile a minute. With a light laugh, Raina nodded. "That would be wonderful." Her petite frame swayed when she gave a good wag of her tail. Her orbs once again held a wildfire like spark in them.
Dakota heard her twinkly little laugh, and grinned. She began to move away, her paws sounding like thunder on the forest floor. Her movements were slow, so that Raina could catch up. She moved through the trees, the bushes parting slightly as she passed through them. She warm sun was now at it's peak, beaming down on them as they traveled through the trees. Soon, they reached the end of the forest, and came to a large clearing. Dakota turned to face Raina.
"Are you hungry? There are some really good hares and stuff in here, so we can eat on the go,"
the past is a wonderful place to visit, but not to stay
Silently steps followed the claps of thunder from Dakota, she was beside the brute in a moment. A smile upon her maw. When the reached the clearing Dakota spoke once again.
"Are you hungry? There are some really good hares and stuff in here, so we can eat on the go,"
"I'm alright, thank you though, I ate a fish before you arrived. But if you are hungry, I can wait well you hunt and eat." Raina said politely.
She wanted to see the brute hunt, his powerful frame, must put up an extravigant show. With a slight swish of her hips, Raina sat her delicate frame on the long grass. Her eyes held a look of knowledge, she loved to plan strategies to hunt.
