Walking just shy of the border, Makato caught a wiff of another wolf's scent, a scent he had never smelt before. Must be a new comer. A couple long, silent strides later, he came upon a cluster of trees and shrubs quickly camoflauging into the surrondings Makato spotted the new arrival. He was big, bulky and did I meantion big? Their head was atleast one and three quarters of Makato's, his eyes were a dark chocolate brown, semigraceless steps carried him to one step away fro entering the pack's borders. "I wouldn't do that if I were you. Well not unless you are going to call for the Alpha and Alpesse.." Tone light and held a small warning, but not giving away were Makato was hiding. Makato's eyes studied the brute's strong build, he didn't have a lean body like Makato but more of a bulky box, which was used more for fighting and intimidation. Noticing a scar on the rouge's face that didn't quite reach his left eye. Large, powerful mitts carried the brute where ever he wanted to go. Although the male's size was big, it didn't intimidate Makato in the slightest, having hopeful faith that his agile body could't carry him faster than this wolf if neccessary and he knew the cold area better than him, also with a mere howl Yiska would be at his side ready to defend his new territory. Still curious Makato let his eyes wander the muscular body, taking in every inch, wondering how he had got the scar on his face and paw.
Long, powerful strides pushed the thickly built maiden up the unfamiliar mountain. She was starting to get hungry, and without anybody begging her to do their dirty jobs, she had no food. She would need to join a pack who would be able to help fill her hollow leg. Otherwise, she'd be off alone, wandering the never ending wilderness. She missed pack life, even though in her pack, if her parent's hadn't raised her the way they had, she would be a slave, a breeding animal. Her old pack had no respect for femmes, and that's why, when she showed some spunk at birth, and will, her parents taught her to fight and taught her to be a brute at heart, although she was born a femme. She had eventually lost her feminine side to the brute that had been created, and learned to play along with the boys.
Catching a dirt pile and puddle of mud or two on the way up, Dakota was able to cover up her regular feminine scent, and disguise herself. She could pull of being a brute in the pack, or so she hoped. She made her way through the mountain territory, always travelling upward, and eventually, reaching the peak-like area. It was still bright in the morning, the sun rising just barely, reflecting off the puddles of water. It was still chilly out here, and the sun that had barely risen still hadn't had time to heat up the mountain top. Since the Alpha's were probably still asleep, Dakota curled up at the base of a tree to take a nap for a few hours. Although it was chilly almost all the time, Dakota had chosen the mountains for a very good reason; it was high, away from everyone else, and she could easily disguise her scent with many different ones up here. She hoped this would be the pack to call home.
When Dakota awoke, the sun was beating down on her back. The sun was directly above her, and the tree did little to protect her from it much longer. She rose to her paws and shook the debris from her long, chocolate coat, before she bounced off, toward the smell of wolves and perhaps a home. She was just shy of the borders, when she realized she had no idea what to do. At her pack, wolves just bounded right in and demanded to join the pack, and, as long as they could hold their weight, could. Should she do that, or should she wait for someone. She stood up quickly and took a few hesitant steps forward, and placed her paws right near the edge, before she moved around it. A voice caught her harks. "I wouldn't do that if I were you. Well not unless you are going to call for the Alpha and Alpesse.." The voice was light, but held a warning, for her life or the brute that had dispensed these lyrics. Perhaps he could help her?
The voice of a brute came naturally to Dakota, and when she spoke, she hardly had to think about making it sound masculine, it was deep, natural, and sounded well... Brutish. "Ai there! Sorry about that, fellow. I apologize sincerely if I worried you there," She apologized, her confused facade matched with her voice. She looked around, realizing that the brute that owns the voice has disappeared into the trees. "Where are you, lad?"

Watching e brute's ears twitched, as he spoke, trying to decifer were the voice was coming from. The sun was beating down, today was one of the warmest it had ever been since Makato joined the pack. A smile krept up into his visage as the rouge spoke, Lad who called anyone lad?, his voice was deep unusual there was a touch of something Makato couldn't quite reach, maybe talking to him more would help him figure it out. "That's alright, names Makato, what's your business here?" Makato's eyes searched the brute's visage confusion was swept over it, wondering where he was hiding. His eyes left the rouge for a moment and looked up at the sky, it was clear, not a single white, fluff ball was in sight. It was nice, possibly a litle too warm for Makato, but that was vbecause he had adated to the cold climate of the spaceish mountain. Birds were singing a sweet tune, in the distance. Drawing his gaze back to the masculine, that stood before him, it seemed he was stilling trying to spot Makato. Thinking the right time to step out of his hidden haven, would be after the business was spoking of why the brute was here.
Dakota has never had much of a life. She had always been training to fight, never to play. Perhaps that's why she's so playful now, missing out on most of her childhood. She had to be so serious while she was taught, only wrestling, but with her father. It was how she was taught. She she had first actually managed to leave a mark on him, she had only been about ten weeks old, and it had left a scar as well. She had been reciting the special move that she had used for about a week, and used it against him, causing a nicely placed scar just above his right orb. He had laughed and praised her fantastic speed in combat, as well as her perfect planning. It was the same moved she used for her first kill, and possibly her third as well. Her second kill had jumped up behind her, and managed to give her a good nick in the back, but she had managed to kill him. The scar on her visage was in that battle, and the cut was deep. It was already scarred when she had found a sweet wolfess who managed to heal most of her other wounds, other than that one and the deep one on her forepaw.
A voice rose from the trees again. "That's alright, names Makato, what's your business here?" It demanded from the trees, and Dakota managed to find the general location. She turned her body to face the voice, and glared into the trees. Her deep baritones rung out in response. "Ai there, Makato, sir. I was searching for a pack, you see, I can't hunt well on my own, but perhaps a pack could teach me," It was all truth. She waited for him to show his location, but he remained in the trees. Dakota searched for eyes, and managed to see some foliage with something behind it. She pretended she didn't, since it seemed this lupe wished to stay hidden until everything was laid out in front.

Makato noticed that the brute averted his eyes away from the brush far to the left of him, silently appearing beside the brute he replied. The sky seemed to be getting brighter and the sun hotter as noon arose. A slight sweat started under Makato's armpits. "I'm over here. I understand, somes strengths are others weaknesses, I didn't catch your name?" Should I show the brute up? Or call for Yiska to come? I know he is busy with the pups... Debating on weither or not to call the Alpha, Makato decided it would be good to get to know the brute. "Where do you come from?" over-sized ears listening intently, glowing caramel orbs observing the brute, ready for anything. Once singing, the distant birds finally quieted, then became silent. Leaves rustling from the miniscule breeze, was the only sound to be heard. Clouds had started to appear, here and there, not enough to drowned out the strong sun.

Ohdaluwaya padded among the trees. He was extremely out of breath from his running throughout the trees. The wolf slowly moved along, head and tail down towards the ground. He had barely seen a single wolf and he had been scrounging the mountain looking for some sign of life. He had been going place to place, sleeping when he needed and eating whenever it was possible. His diet at this point consisted of random berries that didn't appear to be deadly, and the rare squirrel he could find and actually catch. Suddenly the scents changed. Markings were laid out everywhere. left and right were scents left by other wolves. Clearly he had found a border.
Unsure of what to do at this point, Alu began pacing. He didn't want to enter the territory, but he also had no idea what the protocol was for when you find a new territory. Frustrated and exhausted, the wolf lifted up his head and let out a long, loud howl. After he brought his muzzle down the brute laid down where he was previously standing and hoped that some wolf would come to him.
At this point in the wolf's journey his ribs were clearly visible and his legs we scrawny. It seemed that a lot of muscles that were there previously had vanished. Not to mention the odd scar or two from falls and fights. The wolf closed his eyes, giving into famine and fell into a deep sleep.

Yiska was out with Placid and the pups, giving the youngsters a little lesson on which plants were good to eat and which were poisonous (they weren't paying much attention) when his sharp ears picked up a far-away, unfamiliar howl. With a nod to Placid, he started up the mountainside at a swift trot.
It being late in the summer the day was very sunny, but the altitude kept the temperature bearable, and a cool breeze was always blowing to cool his dark fur. With his pack, his territory, his family, and this fine weather, Yiska was a very comfortable and happy wolf.
It took several minutes to reach the area that the howl had come from. As he had expected the borders were nearby, so the wolf who had howled was probably just a wanderer looking for a pack. Not that this wasn't exciting to the alpha. Any new pack member was a good thing, especially if they were respectful enough to wait at the borders. Now he just had to find him....
Yiska used his nose to search out the newcomer. Luckily the wind up here on the rocky slopes was strong and steady, so it was rather easy. The sight of the emaciated wolf unconscious on the ground, on the other hand, was a shock. Yiska bounded toward him, trying not to lose his footing in his haste to reach the wolf. Yiska investigated the stranger. He was still breathing but appeared to be on the brink of starvation. This wolf needed needed food and water immediately. He nudged his face, hoping to wake him up. Anxious, Yiska raised his nose to the air and caught the scents of two other wolves. Makato was one of them. He howled, hoping Makato could help him. His beta had carried that pregnant female all the way up the mountain, and this wolf was small, skinny, not pregnant, and already at the top. Yiska could help him. The alpha grabbed the nape of the stranger and started to drag him, as carefully as he could, toward the mountainside den.

Some of Alu's senses started to come back to him. He was vaguely aware of a nudge on his muzzle and teeth at his neck. He thought he was being moved but at that moment he couldn't tell for sure or bring himself to find out. Alu had no clue as to what was happening around him. He thought he was being moved along by something else. He hoped with all of his remaining thought that another wolf found him before some other animal, such as a bear.
With his dulled senses Alu heard distant cracking of sticks. He could smell the air that could only be found in the mountains. This made him think of home, but he was much too exhausted to actually care where he was. He could feel the teeth and slight motion under himself. His vision was completely useless as he was much to overcome with famine to even open his eyes.
Alu's eyes fluttered in an attempt to see who or what was dragging him. At this point it registered in his mind that he was moving, but he was not the source of the motion. He gave up trying to stop it and let fate have its way.

A low, long howl interrupted Makato and Dakota's conversation. Figuring Yiska would want to be the first to meet that newcomer, he left the unknown wolf alone. Only minutes later Yiska let out a howl, calling for Makato's assistance, glancing at Dakota, he stood. "Sounds like my Alpha needs me. If you wouldn't mind waiting here for just a short moment, I will go and assist him, and then return." Watching the wolf closely, Makato started to back up, still looking at the wolf to watch his reaction. When everything seemed fine, Makato dashed away towards the sound of Yiska's howl.
Dakota's orbs scanned the trees more, still searching. A brush of foliage, and muted pawsteps. Was he moving around? "I'm over here. I understand, somes strengths are others weaknesses, I didn't catch your name?" Dakota spun around, facing the brute. He was an orange color, and rather muscular. Dakota grinned a devilish grin. "Name's Dakota, lad. Call me what you please," she introduced herself, and bowed. She knew respect was desired from loner wolves, especially if you're uncertain of the ranking of another. All Dakota knew was that this brute wasn't the Alpha, nor an Omega. Somewhere in the middle, for sure. "Where do you come from?" the brute, Makato, asked. Dakota grinned, and sat back on her haunches. "Me? Why, I come from a pack far away from here, where lass' were slaves, lad. It was difficult for us to watch, although plenty enjoyed the fact we could do what we wished. My pack went down in battle with a neighbouring group. I fought until I couldn't no longer," she said, her vocals naturally deep and masculine.
A howl rang to her ears, and the knight perked up, listening. "Should you go answer that lad?" she asked, when the smell of another male, who, by the scent, was the Alpha, came in, their scent slowly intertwining with the other loners scent. Instantly, Dakota knew Makato was fine to stay here. "What about you, lad? How long have you been in these parts?" she asked, trying to keep a conversation rolling. Suddenly, another howl, much deeper, drifted to her harks. What the heck was going on? The sound of the howl must've been one of the Alpha, and immediately, something told Dakota it was for Makato. "I reckon that's fo--" she began, but Makato interrupted her. "Sounds like my Alpha needs me. If you wouldn't mind waiting here for just a short moment, I will go and assist him, and then return." He said, and began to back up. Dakota nodded, and sat stock still until Makato left, when she stuck her muzzle to the ground, sniffing out the area. She could still smell Makato's tracks. Easily, she clambered her way up top, where she could see them, but they not see her. Remaining downwind, Dakota knew the wouldn't know of her presence. Perhaps they needed help? Lowering her body down on the ridge, she slunk back to watch, just in case.
the past is a wonderful place to visit, but not to stay
"Dakota, that's a nice name" Makato studied the brute, something was off. Not the way he acted, or smelt...but something was different. "Me? Why, I come from a pack far away from here, where lass' were slaves, lad. It was difficult for us to watch, although plenty enjoyed the fact we could do what we wished. My pack went down in battle with a neighbouring group. I fought until I couldn't no longer," When the brute spoke of his past, Makato's eyes grew dark and a growl started in his throat. "That's a rough past to live, horrible how some treat femmes isn't it." Shaking his head, the normal curiousity returned in his eyes. "I grew up in forest a ways away from here, my brother caught a bug and killed my mother and sister. My father was never in the picture. I've lived here for...about a year and a half. " His expression remained still.
With long, graceful strides Makato made it to Yiska in a short amount of time. An unknown wolfs' scent filled his nose, alohas someone else come to join the pack? Why did Yiska need his help then? As he got closer to his Alpha, Makato noticed a pile of bones with skin and fur, but with a second look, he realized it was a wolf! With a sharp intake of air, he walked up to Yiska, who seemed to be trying to pull the wolf. "You called for me?" Looking at the scrawny wolf, Makato's eyes moved across the body, checking for any sign that he was still alive. There seemed to be a shallow rise of his chest now and then. But besides that, it would have been easy on first glance to assume he was dead.
The wind was blowing in Makato's face, making his fur blow around like a mane of red. With slow glance around, Makato couldn't see any collprite. But on a closer inspection of the brutes body, you could see the wounds weren't new, but recent. hearing a quiet rustle of leaves, Makato turned his head to the right, but his eyes swooped to the side, looking behind him. It was a trick he had learned when he played hide&seek with his little sister, he could look behind him, without the one he was watching, knowing.

Thoughts began to push through Alu's mind. What's happening? Where am i? He shifted his paws and he instantly could feel soreness and pain from months of travel. His eyes were opened just a crack as he saw wolves standing around him. His head raised from the ground a few inches, but pain shot up his neck and he was forced to lay back down. He opened his eyes fully and glanced at the wolf.
His muzzle moved in a way that suggested he wanted to speak, but no words came to him. Famine overtook his mind as he curled around his stomach, ending up in a partial fetal position. His eyes pleaded help from the surrounding wolves.

Relief washed over Yiska as Makato appeared over the ridge, and he waited impatiently as the beta made his way toward him. He spoke quickly. "Makato, we need to get this wolf to the den. He's starving." Surely Makato could see that, but he figured it couldn't hurt to point it out. "You're strong. Take him to the den and let him eat. Not too much or he'll be sick, but...enough. I'll take care of the loner." He nodded to the direction Makato had come, unaware that the stranger had moved.
((Sorry about the late post, guys, I didn't notice it was my turn. Also sorry about the short post))
Makato watched the stranger wlf, but when Yiska started to speak his eyes met the Alpha's. With a nod of his head, Makato bent down and gently pulled the wolf up onto his back. "The loner's name is Dakota, his really big, just thought I ould meantion it so you don't feel alarmed." With a look behind him, he added with a slightly raised voice, "Dakato should be in the same spot. I'll make sure the wolf eats." With that Makato bowed his head and started up the mountain at an easy pace not wanting to hurt the wolf, memories of Mausi slipped into his min, but he quickly pushed them out and focused on the task at hand. Looking over his shoulder Makato stopped and adjusted the wolf on his back, Making sure his head was rested atop his own.
Reaching his den Makato layed th stranger down and grcefully sprinted off to get food. Returning in a moment with a deer leg, he had carefully avoided the white hare, knowing how much Ransom liked them, and how that had been what he and retrieved for Mai on her firt visit. Setting the leg down infront of the starved wolf, and gently nudged him with his soft nose. "There is food for you." in a quiet tone Makato explained to the wolf were he was and that there was food for him.
Eyes drooping closed as Dakota watched the interaction, suddenly, a loud voice interrupted her dozing state. "Dakato should be in the same spot. I'll make sure the wolf eats." Makato's voice boomed. Dakota understood instantly. She jumped up and attempted to race through the forest, when her paws slipped on the hill side. With a tiny bark, she slid down the hill towards the Alpha, now that Makato had gone. Unharmed, Dakota jumped up, and immediately bowed for the Alpha. "Ai there, Sir Alpha. I mean no harm," she said, and introduced herself, "My name's Dakota, lad. I came in search of a pack," the knight said, a grin broadening her maw. "Who might you be?"
