Celeste awoke and flickered her tail in alertness. She stood high, ears perked high and paws planted firmly on the earth. Celeste noticed the sun was barely coming up, it was dusk. "Ahh...What an excellent time to go exploring!" Celeste said to herself. Celeste walked and roamed her new surroundings and stumbled across a small lake, obviously filled with fish. Celeste dipped her head slightly, taking in some cold water. Celeste was now hungry and she didn't enjoy fish a lot but she gave it a try. Celeste stood patiently, not moving a muscle. A fish surfaced to catch a small water bug and Celeste dove into the cold, shallow water, biting the fish and locking her jaws tightly. Celeste quickly retreated to her resting spot and enjoyed the bitter tasting trout as she watched the sun arise in the multicolored sky...
After a few hours of dozing off, Celeste finally awoke again and this time in search of more prey. Celeste often ate to satisfied her large appetite though she kept it to herself because she thought it wasn't lady-like. Celeste stood but lowered her body close to the ground, holding her rear end up in the air and stretching her front legs and abdomen. While she stretched, she let out this yawn with a high pitched whine to it. Celeste licked her muzzle and padded her way to the lake once more. On her way going, she froze completely; her right paw remained up off the ground, perked close to her chest. Celeste held her gaze and then slowly took her hunting stance.
The small elk obviously didn't notice Celeste's presence and that was good. Celeste crouched down with a bush slightly covering her. Celeste slowly lifted her body higher off the ground, exposing herself for the attack. Celeste then ran quickly, bolting after the fast elk. The elk was fast and looked 'full' or bloated. As the elk ran, it wasn't as swiftly but rather sluggish. This slowed the elk down a bit giving Celeste enough time to catch up. Celeste then grew closer to the elk and Celeste sprang after the elks legs. The elk fell hard, causing the dust the dirt to fly up into the air, irritating Celeste's eyes.
Now squinting, Celeste grew angry and bit the elk's neck harshly, yet killing it quickly. The elk shook and twitched for a bit and soon it was lifeless.
Celeste carried the elk under a tree with shade as the sun was high in the sky now. Celeste began stripping the elk's body apart, consuming all but fur and some bones. Celeste licked her lips, erasing some of the bloody out line around her mouth. Celeste stood again and shook her body and went back to her resting spot and laid down but her head was still held high as she was on her bloated stomach. Celeste stayed this way for some time, observing her new surroundings. Birds crowing, cicadas chirping, the wind singing...Celeste stayed silent and peacefully listening to the forest murmurs....
