Fang wandered carefully through the forest. This area was completely new to him, never before seen, and he didn't want to get caught up in any unnecessary situations. Whether it be rogue wolves, other inhabitants of the forest, or bloodlusting pack wolves; he didn't need the additional altercation. As his gray and white paws fell continuously to the soft grassy earth, his blue eyes flicked back and forth, scanning around the land as he went on. The he-wolf tried to reduce the amount of noise he made, as well. Using stealth in this fresh new land would help him to stay unnoticed by a potential predator, if one were near. If he were caught however, Fang would be forced to defend his tail from the attacker. But the area seemed rather calm and placid. The trees and grasses swayed perpetually in the soft breeze. The male's ears kept twitching of their own accord as the wind entered them. It slightly bothered him that he was travelling "up-wind", so to speak, but this would help keep his scent away from another's nose, blowing the aroma toward the area he'd already passed through and mentally deemed as safe. Fang's eyes, nose, and ears were still on high alert. Perhaps he was being a bit too overcautious, seeing as it was so quiet and not once had his senses been disturbed. The large gray wolf lowered his guard slightly. But, just enough so to were he could saunter through the forest in a more calm manner. He would still be utilizing all of his senses fully just in case, but just not as much so.
Fang had been continually noticing the smell of a large body of fresh water creeping up on his nose. He could tell that he was close to some water. In which case, he would welcome it gratefully. The gray wolf hadn't had much to drink since he'd been traversing the landscape. His hunger was no problem at the moment, as he had found a rabbit to satiate his stomach for the time being earlier in the day. As he continued, something then struck his sense of smell. He could smell the mark of a family, a unit, a congregation.. a pack. Fang had been nearly expecting to pick up the scent of a pack sometime soon, being that he hadn't in a while. The wolf remained a shadow in the forest the best he could as he got closer to the border. He kept a fair distance from it as of now, questioning if he should make an approach or pass it up. Fang leaned up against the trunk of a tree, his fur blowing in the wind as he pondered. Should he close distance on their borders and alert them to his presence? After thinking a short while longer, Fang made the decision. He padded closer to the borders of the wolf's territory. In the distance, he could see a large lake. His pink tongue lolled from his maw and the sight of it. It was a magnificent body of water, it sitting in full beauty among the trees of the wood. Fang looked onward, standing silent only a moment longer before making his presence know in the most brilliant and alluring way. He raised his head back and let out a loud melodic howl that rang through the forest. The strong and fierce howl would be sure to attract the attention of the unseen pack who's border he now stood so close to. Fang lowered his head, scanning the distance to detect the movement a wolf could be seen.
