Lune raced through the grassland in the spring day. She had gotten tired of her family. She would visit them often but she just felt like being in the pack where sibling rivalry for the heir to take over was to much to compete with. She actually felt free for once. Even though she hadn't told anybody that she was leaving she hoped that they all understood. Especially her mother. The last she had looked at her mom, Placid she was heartbroken and trying to get over the fact that Fern another of her daughters had been killed.
The year old girl bounced happily through the grass before coming to a stop. Someone else was here in these Grasslands. Her multi-color but mostly brown fur bristled before she saw a small deer herd. She relaxed some then sighed "I love it out here" She fell foward tumbling through the grass like any clumsy youngster would. She giggled and rolled to her side and saw a butterfly land on her nose and blew on it and it flew off into the air. She stood up and smiled.
The day was rather calm over the grassy space. A soft wind played push-and-pull with the grass and trees, as well as the waters. The sun hung overhead, set to make its descent in a few hours. For now though, it cast a warm and rewarding orange glow across the grasslands. The light from the colossal ball of eternal flames shone through the trees, causing long shadows that wound throughout the land. The entire scene was something to stand and look at in its generally undisturbed natural state. Shadows fell across the land, wrapping the landscape in bands of gray. Among those shadows, one was most unusual. Out of character it was, for it changed position in odd ways; moving diagonally, straight, and wherever it pleased. It seemed the shadow had no stationary position, that it simply moved of its own accord. But, upon closer inspection, that phantasmal figure that skirted through the field was, in fact, a canid. A gray wolf by the name of Fang...
Fang trotted through the darkened spaces that the sun's rays had provided for him, staying out of the lightened earth as to keep himself concealed and to keep his pelt from getting too hot under the orange disk. He scented the air periodically to check for any creatures nearby. He needed to hunt and hadn't found any sufficient game to bring down. The male needed some sustenance, though. He'd been walking on without meat in his core for some time now. Fang stopped as a creature's own signature scent came to greet his nose. His mouth watered slightly at the aroma. Perhaps he would get something to eat yet. He also heard a light noise from up ahead of his current location in the grasslands. Instantly, his body dropped lower to the ground and Fang began stalking towards his prey, intent on the warm meat beneath its fur. As he got closer and closer to his next meal, he could see it rustling in the tall grass up ahead, though he still had no direct visual on the creature itself.
Fang got closer, and as he did so, the tail and ears of a small wolf became clearly visible. He stood out of sight, a small smile on his muzzle, as he watched the little femme roll around in the grass, giggling as she did so. His eyes flicked around the field. It seemed the little one was alone. Slowly, the gray wolf left his concealment behind, stepping out into the sun and walking closer to the little one, though he still kept a fair distance so he didn't startle her. His features took on a friendly tone toward the small, red-furred wolf and he spoke out to her in his deep voice. "Are you sure it's safe to be roaming around here alone, little one?"
She had began to follow the butterfly when she heard "Are you sure it's safe to be roaming around here alone, little one?" She paused looing toward the direction the deep voice came from and noticed the male. She looked at him for a moment then said softly "I'm old enough to be on my own" She saw his friendly posture and then said "It's to crowded at home with my other siblings." Her eyes caught sight of the butterfly again and she watched it before returning to the male. "My name's Lune" she called out sitting down calmly showing the male she wasn't afraid of him.

The sun set on it just perfectly but it was hidden in such a way that she could nap in peace. Her slender form slicing through the air around her, she was in a hurry, but not even to break out into a full run, there was no need, nobody knew of her favorite spot.
Pausing she lifts her nose into the air, her coat twisting as a gust of wind flows over her. Someone was near. Turning slightly she creeps into the very edge of the trees, her golden eyes coming to settle on the two wolves. Her ears rolled back against her head at the sight, she would automatically assume that the male was there to pick on the pup, but waiting a few moments she knew that wasn't the case at all. He seemed to be checking up on her.
She watched the attitude of the pup, laying her form out against the trees. She keep herself out of sight but she was curious to know what was going to happen next. Her nap could wait a few minutes.
