Name: Iris
Age: two years
Gender: female
Personality: In one word, Iris is timid. In more, she is shy, timorous. It is due to the abuse she received from her father from a young age. She keeps out of other wolves way and even goes so far as to hide from strangers she sees. Unfortunately her orange fur makes her stick out like a sore thumb in almost all environments. She is kind and empathetic, though: she feels pain when she sees a lost or orphaned fawn or an injured bird or anything like that, but with other canines she has serious trust issues. She won't even sit very close to someone she's having a conversation with unless she trusts them completely, which is hard to get her to do. She's never trusted someone so much except her siblings.

Her coat is very unique: Much of it is a lovely, rare, light, creamy orange color that runs back in a long line through her mother's side. The color is most rich around her ears, and from there it spreads down her head to cover the very top of her muzzle, and down her back and all the way to her tail, where it is much less intense. The rest of her fur--her belly, the insides of her legs, her paws, her chest, her jaws--is a gentle off-white color. Her fur is thick and soft, but too short, even in winter, for her to be able to live in very cold places. Her eyes are a striking brilliant blue and her nose and lips are black. In build, she is very small, but proportional.
History: Iris was born to two loners without a territory. At first her mother was kind and her father rather gruff, but when her father started abusing her mother, her involvement in her pups' lives faded to almost nothing. As a weanling her father turned on his pups too, and this went on for several months before he flew into and actually killed one of Iris's siblings. That was when their grief-stricken mother finally stepped in. She battled long and hard but in the end was killed. But she had never thought she would win. Her sacrifice gave her remaining pups time to escape. Their first night alone Iris was separated from the rest of her siblings, and has not seen them since. She is small because, from this young age, she has not had enough to eat. Unable to catch large prey, she has lived off rabbits and smaller animals.
