Two small ears and curious moss green eyes popped out of the tall grass, scanning the area with keen senses. The figure rose up, taking the form of a petite female wolf, her nose twitching to catch any smell of food. This tan and orange colored wolf who blended in with the grass was Sade. She wasn't intimidating, in fact she looked scared to death herself and her small steps forward gave more evidence to the fact that she was nervous. Sade picked up the pace, unhappy that there was absolutely no life running around in the tall grass today. By the looks of the darkening sky she could guess they were all being smart and snuggling up in their dens. The dove's stomach growled and she hung her head as she trotted forward in search of someplace to curl up and let the storm pass. Sade ached for the company of another wolf to wait with her, she ached for another wolf period. It had been weeks since she had seen anything other than rabbits and deer and the coming of a thunderstorm didn't make her mood any better. She sighed and started into a lope as the first crack of thunder tore at the sky.
The femme was wandering along, enjoying the peace and quiet of being alone for the first time in awhile. Sure, she loved her family, but she still needed alone time. Seven pups got out of hand at times. The world has changed so much since the beginning of her life, changing each day. It's changed so much within the last couple weeks, tying herself down to a family. It was a good tie, one she doesn't and never will regret.
It was easy for her to move like this now. Before, when she was carrying seven angels around with her, her movements felt so restricted, and it got hard. She felt empty, for sure, but she didn't mind too much. She loved her seven wonders more now, and eventually, it'd be even more as they grew up.
A huge flash lit up the darkened area, causing the femme to flinch back uneasily. She's never liked thunder storms. She picked up to a brisk pace, a huge bang ringing her ears. She could smell a wolf nearby, a femme, it smelt like. Following the scent, she followed the femme further, before she pressed ahead to catch up. The rain began to pour, and Placid ducked her head, the dusky colored femme coming into her sight. "Excuse me? Do you need help finding shelter?" if the femme said yes, she'd show her to a hidden grove. The Alphesse raced forward, matching her stride with the maiden's easily.

Sade jumped slightly at the voice of the femme from behind her. She looked back, surprised to see another wolf out here in the plains during a thunderstorm. Sade was uneasy accepting help from a stranger but the large droplets of water that beat her pelt flat to her skin convinced her to accept this wolf's help. "Yes, please!" She called over the pouring rain. Sade let the femme take the lead and fell in a few paw steps behind her. She had no idea where she was being taken so she kept her guard up in case a fight was to break out, though by the smell of this wolf she didn't get any indication that should would do any harm. The wolf led Sade to a small hidden grove that lay on the outskirts of the plains. The thick canopy of trees stopped most of the water from reaching them and Sade thankfully shook the water from her skinny frame. "Thank you very much. But may I be so rude to ask what is your name?

The femme had jumped at the sound of Placid's voice, and she instantly felt bad for startling the stranger. She had to nearly yell over the pounding rain, and all Placid could do was nod. She would have to waste her voice enough with her youngsters. A soft growl rose in her throat, the rain stinging her hide. She didn't like this weather at all. It could cause problems back at home, and could cause floods elsewhere. The stranger fell into stride behind Placid as she led the way to her hidden grove.
It was different here, and that's why she loved it. The rain barely made it through the leaves, the only point of existence being the hammering of the rain on the leaves. The femme thanked her and asked her what her name was. "I'm Placid. Do not fret, my dear, I will not bite. I have seven pups back home, and a mate. I doubt I'd try to do much harm to you," she whispered in a gentle tone, trying to soothe the stranger. She left out the part she was Alphesse, figuring the femme would figure it out herself. "And what is your name, my dear?"

SADE
Sade felt very silly for being so nervous earlier, but seeing as how she had lived the past few weeks you couldn't blame her. Being without a pack was tough and she had never realized how much she had relied on her pack mates until she left them. She also felt stupid for not smelling the puppy scent on the female but seeing as how it was raining she could have never known. "My name is Sade." She said softly. "I'm really grateful for you coming along and helping me. If you hadn't I probably would still be roaming around in the storm looking for shelter." Sade said smiling kindly. "If you can't tell I'm not exactly from around here." Sade laughed and stood up, shaking the new droplets of water from her dirty pelt. Being on the run gave her no time to groom herself and she hoped that Placid wouldn't look to closely at the mats in her fur. Sade didn't want the first wolf she had met in weeks to think she was a dirty loner.
The stranger, calling herself Sade, thanked Placid again, a grateful smile playing along her lips. The Alphesse gave an easy smile back, as Sade offered up the information that she was new. Placid smiled. "No offence, but it did happen to strike me," she gave a playful laugh, "I've been around here since winter. I claimed the mountains as mine, found a mate, had some pups, and in the process ended up with another pack member," she laughed, looking back on the memories, before she continued, "If you ever are in need of a place, just climb those mountains and let your heart soar. We'll come for you," she whispered, pointing to the mountains, her home, with her muzzle. This wasn't good bye, she hoped, but she'd have to go when the rain stopped, for the sake that poor Yiska was home alone with the pups.

SADE
Sade's heart seemed to jump out of her chest with happiness. A pack was nearby! The she-wolf hadn't been this happy in a very long time and the fact that she had been invited by the Alpha Female made it seem unreal. She hadn't though she would ever find another wolf pack after what had happened back home, let alone one that could possibly her. Packs where she lived were very selective on who they chose to be a member, they were never families like they were meant to be, they were organizations set there to breed and keep a line going of prestigious regal wolves who cared more about looks than anything else. "So you're saying, if I wanted too and you would let me in, I could be apart of your pack? Or just at least visit. I'm packless at the moment if you can't tell." Sade laughed not really believing the words. Maybe it was a lack of sleep and food but she was still finding it hard to believe that maybe she had just found a new home. But something tugged inside of her. Did she really want a new pack? Being alone was well, lonely but it kept her safe from pain. Was she really ready to become apart of a pack again? Sade didn't know, but it wasn't like the wolf had accepted her into the pack right then and there, no she still had options and this time she would make sure and figure out which was was the best choice.
The excitement was clear as day on the she-wolf's face, and all Placid could do was laugh at her. No, not at her, with her. She was so sweet, so innocent. Placid gave an easy smile, one that was warming and welcoming. Motherly, in a way. "Of course! You'll always be welcome," she smiled, letting lose a soft sigh. Her pack was still small, consisting only of family and Makato. Makato counted as family, like a brother. So yes, a pack made of family. Mostly blood-relations. Of course, if that's not what the she-wolf wanted, "There's also another pack, the White Lake Pack. A young maiden that had given birth in our packlands went there. Eleven pups were too much for two hunters to feed, right? But if that's not your cup of tea, there's free land not far from here, really. The Silver Plains lands. Long before we were here, all of these pack died out, of some sort of illness. We're trying to get these lands started again. More lone wolves have been coming through here, and, perhaps, you could be the first Alphesse of the newly born pack? It's up to you, of course, but I figured I might as well inform you," the Alphesse decided to inform Sade, figuring she would make a great Alpha.

SADE
Sade was silent for a moment, deep in thought. Alpha. She could become Alpha. Becoming a leader could pretty much guarantee that what her old pack had done to her would never happen ever again, to herself or the others in her pack. Sade warmed at the thought of that and wondered if she could make a good Alphesse. It would be difficult but why not? She'd been one before even if all she had done was sit around looking pretty. This time it would be work though, could she handle it? "The land is open you say? Silver Plains...how far from here is it?" Sade asked. The offer was so tempting and she couldn't refuse it. Being a leader was something every wolf wanted and here was her chance. Here was an offer pretty much handed to her on a silver platter, there was no way Sade could refuse. "If you point me off in the right direction I'll check it out, and if I don't like it at all I can always come to your pack. I think if I can I'll take the Silver Plains pack and make something out of it. Sade smiled, a sudden calm coming over her. Maybe she was ready for this, maybe this is why she left.
The femme, Sade, now looked more calm, thoughtful. Perhaps she was ready to take on this important role. While she was still deep in thought, Placid spoke up, "It'll be a lot of work, but you could probably take it," The thunderstorm was letting up, and Placid smiled. This was a good sign. Their ancestors were happy with this decision. Her azure orbs were soft as she watched the femme, her voice sounding so tempted as she spoke again, so excited in a more calm fashion. Placid smiled, nodding her maw in the direction of the plains. "Just through the trees, you'll come to a stream. Cross to the other side, more trees. That's the beginning," she smiled kindly, standing up. She placed her muzzle on the femmes forehead, in a way, blessing her. "Good luck, my dear," she murmured, before she turned, padding out into the opening sunlight, towards the mountains, her home. "You'll know where to find me!" she called over her shoulder, before she looked home and didn't look back.

SADE
This was it. This was what Sade had been traveling for. The weeks she had spent wandering about the land looking for a home weren't wasted at all like she had thought they were. She was going to be an Alpha! Sade watched Placid pad away then she turned and trotted towards the direction that the she-wolf had pointed out. Already the femme was mapping out what to do first when she arrived at her new home. Obviously the place would be run down and in need of repair but she could do it. Soon she wouldn't be alone and things would really start to move. Yeah, she could do this. Sade broke into a run and soon she hit the stream that Placid had told her about. She leaped over it and kept going until she hit more trees. This was it. This was the beginning of a whole new life.
